No Person can be trusted even if he's President Musharraf's aide. As Pakistan Military has always been the ruling power despite democratic rule. This can haunt President Musharraf in his next 5 years which is not good for Pakistan. The way he has ruled pakistan and had curbed extremism and other terrorism is extraordinaryAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12215464.post-68978931798985472402007-11-30T10:08:00.000+04:002007-11-30T10:08:00.000+04:00I am not sure if the resignation would make any di...I am not sure if the resignation would make any difference. The real issue is not Musharraf or Kiyani - the real issue is the important and intereference of the Pakisani Army in running of the country. Presidents/PMs came and went, but they were all either Armymen, or were remotely controlled by the army.
If Pakistan has to really preserve its democrary, the army needs to focus on their job, and not that of a govt. Without that, it is not unlikely that the next govt will be overthrown by army.

Hardik Shah, LondonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12215464.post-50205458487975364642007-11-30T10:05:00.000+04:002007-11-30T10:05:00.000+04:00Most people seem to be glad that he's taken the un...Most people seem to be glad that he's taken the uniform off and want him to give up his presidential post as well. My questions to these pundits is - who do you think is going to fill the void? the muppets who brought Pakistan to the brink of bankruptcy - moral and financial, in the '90? He's no angel but he's done a great deal of good in the 8 yrs he's been there, unlike his power & money hungry predessors who the west is so keen to see reinstalled.

arsalanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12215464.post-30553584092039903852007-11-29T11:21:00.000+04:002007-11-29T11:21:00.000+04:00A brave forward looking man.
